If you play sports, chances are that you know someone who has had a concussion or you have had a concussion yourself.
If you play interscholastic sports, you were required to sign a fact sheet about concussion, and if you read it over carefully, you have an idea about how serious a concussion can be.
If you play sports with a recreation league, a community traveling team, or a private sports club, you may or may not have heard that a concussion is a brain injury and needs to be taken seriously.
Here at the Brain Injury Alliance of New Jersey (BIANJ), we take concussion very seriously and we want you to have the facts, we want to answer your questions, but most of all, we want you to enjoy your sport for as long as you want as safely as possible.
We met with a few young athletes who wanted to share their concussion stories with you to help you to better understand that a concussion is a brain injury and needs to be taken seriously.
